Gastro Miasto returns to Kraków from 24 to 26 July 2026, bringing leading restaurants, street food, live music and family attractions to Bulwar Czerwieński beneath Wawel Castle.
Kraków’s summer festival season continues later this month as Gastro Miasto returns to the banks of the Vistula for another weekend celebrating food, local hospitality and outdoor dining. Taking place from 24 to 26 July 2026, the event transforms Bulwar Czerwieński, beneath Wawel Castle, into a lively culinary destination where visitors can enjoy dishes from some of the city’s best restaurants alongside live entertainment and family activities.
There is no entrance fee for the event, making it an accessible way for residents and visitors alike to experience Kraków’s thriving food scene in one of the city’s most picturesque settings.
A Weekend Dedicated to Great Food
Rather than focusing on a single cuisine, Gastro Miasto brings together a broad mix of culinary concepts from Kraków and beyond. Restaurants and independent food businesses prepare specially curated festival menus, allowing visitors to sample everything from contemporary Polish cooking to international favourites, all served from open-air kitchens overlooking the river.
The organisers will announce the full list of participating restaurants and festival menus closer to the event. Previous editions have showcased a wide variety of cuisines, making each weekend slightly different from the last.
Whether you are planning a leisurely lunch, an afternoon with friends or an evening meal accompanied by music, the festival offers plenty of opportunities to discover new flavours.
One of Kraków’s Most Scenic Festival Locations
Few locations capture the atmosphere of a Kraków summer quite like Bulwar Czerwieński. Stretching along the Vistula beneath the historic silhouette of Wawel Castle, the riverside promenade provides an ideal backdrop for an outdoor food festival.
Visitors can expect relaxed seating areas, plenty of green space and uninterrupted views across the river, creating an environment that encourages people to slow down and enjoy the city’s distinctive summer atmosphere.

Music, Family Entertainment and Evening Events
Food remains the main attraction, but Gastro Miasto has become equally well known for its entertainment programme.
Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy:
- Live DJ sets
- Concerts and live performances
- Relaxation zones
- A dedicated children’s play area
- Local artisan and craft stalls
- Evening silent disco sessions overlooking Wawel Castle
The combination of food, music and riverside scenery has helped establish Gastro Miasto as one of Kraków’s signature outdoor summer events.
Opening Hours
The festival will take place over three days:
- Friday, 24 July: 16:00 to 01:00
- Saturday, 25 July: 12:00 to 01:00
- Sunday, 26 July: 12:00 to 22:00
Entry is free throughout the weekend.
A Taste of Modern Kraków
Events such as Gastro Miasto highlight the growing importance of food festivals within Kraków’s cultural calendar. They provide an opportunity for independent restaurants and local businesses to introduce themselves to new audiences while encouraging people to make the most of the city’s public spaces during the summer months.
For visitors travelling to Kraków, the festival also offers an enjoyable way to experience the city’s contemporary culinary scene beyond its traditional cafés and restaurants, combining local hospitality with one of Poland’s most recognisable historic settings.

If you are visiting Kraków in late July, Gastro Miasto offers an excellent excuse to spend an afternoon or evening beside the Vistula. Arrive hungry, leave plenty of time to explore the different food stalls and stay after sunset to enjoy the riverside atmosphere as the city comes to life.
With free admission, a diverse food offering and entertainment for all ages, it promises to be one of the highlights of Kraków’s summer festival season.
